Theresa’s research interests include health economics related to behavior change and the development of sustainable health programs. She has focused on program development and evaluation. Much of her work has centered around youth and families’ acceptance and access to fresh fruit and vegetables. Currently, she is working on taxing and incentives to promote behavior change as it relates to nutrition and physical activity.

Bio: 
Theresa has over 12 years of experience in maternal and child nutrition and food systems research. Originally from Siskiyou County, California. This has given her a personal understanding of the health challenges faced by rural communities. She held an academic advisor position in nutrition, family and consumer sciences for 10 years with the University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources. She was the regional lead for the Farm to School Network in the Northern San Joaquin Valley and led the development of the Regional Food and Nutrition Network.
